This antique blanket cover (so-called by the estate) is an exquisite piece, made of 100% lightweight (think blouse weight) silk with handmade lace details and a brocade pattern. It measures 85 inches in length and 65 inches in width, with a rectangular shape suitable for a twin extra-long bed. This piece is an original item, not a reproduction, from the mid-to late 1800s, featuring a brocade texture and 4 1/2” wide handmade lace expertly machine-stitched to the silk. The lace is hand-stitched to make the corner. See the photo of the corner—I wish I could magnify it so you could see how intricately it is sewn. It lays perfectly flat and is blended into the design.tio
